Benefits

SOWÉ massage oil quickly relieves and soothes joint tension and muscle pain.

The combined action of cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), terpenes and essential oils have demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting signaling pathways that promote the synthesis of pro-inflammatory molecules.

Our star active ingredients, cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabigerol (CBG), are among the most popular active ingredients in the sports and medical industries. They are found in many balms, ointments and medications to combat pain and accelerate muscle recovery.

The benefits of CBD massage

Humans, like other mammals, have an endocannabinoid system. This means that our body produces its own molecules belonging to the cannabinoid family, called “endocannabinoids”, to distinguish them from “phytocannabinoids” which are produced by plants (including hemp) and attach to specific receptors (CB1 and CB2). ) to cannabinoids, interact with enzymes that synthesize and degrade these cannabinoids.

The endocannabinoid system

The endocannabinoid system plays a crucial role in maintaining the body's internal balance, a process known as homeostasis. It also contributes to the regulation of various bodily functions, including the management of pain and inflammation, the control of stress and emotions, the optimal functioning of the immune system, as well as the modulation of appetite and process of digestion.

Although it is not currently authorized to make therapeutic claims regarding CBD, numerous studies (more than 10,000/year) have emerged to study the numerous benefits that these molecules would have. Research indicates that cannabinoids may also interact with other receptors in our body, such as TRP channels, which play an important role in alleviating pain. Cannabidiol (CBD) is considered a promising option in various sectors, including sports. Its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties can help the muscle recovery of high-level athletes by, for example, reducing pain related to cramps and muscle aches due to exercise.

Homeostasis

The endocannabinoid system (SEC), involved in homeostasis and the regulation of various physiological aspects of our body, therefore acts on stress and anxiety, two feelings frequently associated with the pressured life of a professional athlete. In situations of excessive stress, for example, this system is activated and allows the body to return to a normal state. The lack of endoccannabinoid can therefore be filled by a supply of phytocannabinoids.

Vegetable oils

Our organic vegetable oils can strengthen the skin's immunity and resistance while nourishing it, and accelerate the healing of certain wounds, stings and burns.

It is imperative to apply these CBD massage oils and balms to clean skin to optimize absorption.

CBD should in no way be considered a substitute for medical treatment. Neither French legislation nor health professionals recognize it as such. Therefore, it should be remembered that these tips are intended solely to promote well-being.

Our CBD oil can meet the needs of athletes wishing to improve their recovery, as well as those who suffer from muscle stiffness or problems related to venous and lymphatic circulation. Additionally, in cases of osteoarthritis and arthritis, a massage can also help maintain mobility and promote moderate physical activity.

Premium extraction

Supercritical CO2

Our premium CBD is simply natural, not synthetic. That's why we've opted for supercritical CO2 extraction. This involves treating a natural, plant-based raw material with CO2. Between the viscosity of a gas and the density of a liquid, supercritical CO2 carries the molecules along and circulates until the desired active ingredients are fully extracted, such as CBD, CBD-V, CBG or CBC, as well as numerous terpenes, while guaranteeing the exclusion of THC.

CBD, the best muscular ally for athletes

By influencing the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a complex cellular signalling system present in the human body that plays an essential role in maintaining homeostasis, i.e. the body's ability to maintain a stable internal environment, cannabidiol acts directly on inflammatory reactions.

How to use your massage oil?

To use your massage oil, first wash your hands and make sure the recipient's skin is clean and dry. Next, pour a small amount of oil into the palm of your hand and warm it by rubbing your palms together. Then apply the oil to the area to be massaged, using gentle, circular movements. The pressure and speed should be adapted according to how the recipient feels and the type of massage. Avoid massaging sensitive areas such as eyes, ears, mucous membranes, wounds or inflammations.

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a molecule extracted from hemp. CBD is legal in France and most other European countries, provided it contains little or no THC, the psychoactive substance in cannabis.

CBD is used in many cosmetic products for its moisturising, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and sebum-regulating properties. CBD can be taken as an oil, placed under the tongue or added to food.

What are the benefits of CBD on the skin?

CBD has numerous benefits for the skin, depending on the skin type and the issue being addressed. CBD can help with:

Regulating the production of sebum for oily or acne-prone skin

  • CBD normalizes the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines (anti-inflammatory effect).
  • CBD normalizes lipogenesis in sebocyte cells (lipostatic effect without compromising cell viability).
  • CBD decreases the proliferation of these cells (antiproliferative effect without inducing sebocyte apoptosis).
  • CBD exerts a sebostatic action (lipostatic and antiproliferative) by activating TRPV4 receptors, thereby significantly reducing sebum production.

Alleviating sensitive or irritated skin

Its regulatory action on the inflammation process helps limit the production of pro-inflammatory molecules at multiple levels. By doing so, it contributes to restricting the dilation of micro-blood vessels, thereby reducing the occurrence of skin redness. This is particularly beneficial for conditions like rosacea and psoriasis. As a result, the skin appears smoother and more soothed.

Reducing redness or inflammation

Many studies attribute undeniable effectiveness to CBD as an anti-inflammatory at various levels:

  • By blocking the migration of macrophages (digestion of foreign particles and pathogens).
  • By regulating the activation of lymphocytes (recognition and destruction of foreign cells).
  • By inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory substances.
  • By promoting the release of other anti-inflammatory substances called "Cytokines".

CBD demonstrates its effectiveness as an anti-inflammatory at various levels.

Preventing or reducing signs of ageing

The antioxidant effect of CBD helps slow down the oxidation process of cells, thereby preventing the occurrence of oxidative stress. CBD thus delays the natural aging process of cells and acts as a barrier against factors leading to premature aging that we encounter daily.

Hydrating dry skin

CBD improves the appearance and texture of the skin, making it more supple, smoother, and radiant.

How does CBD affect the skin?

CBD is a phyto-cannabinoid: a molecule that mimics endo-cannabinoids (cannabinoids produced by the human body) to interact with the endocannabinoid system: a set of receptors found throughout the body, including in the skin.

CBD acts on the skin by:

Modulating the production of sebum

Modulating the inflammation process

Protecting the skin against oxidative stress

Soothing sensations of itching or pain

It is a natural active ingredient ideal for skin issues, acne, and numerous dermatoses.

How is CBD used on the skin?

CBD can be used on the skin in various forms

Depending on the mode of application and the desired result, CBD can be presented in the form of oil, to be applied directly on the skin or mixed with a cream or serum.

CBD can also be found in the form of cream, balm, gel, mask, soap, deodorant, etc. CBD can also be vaporised in the form of water or mist, to be sprayed on the face or body.

At SOWÉ, we have opted for oily formulas to maximise the concentration of CBD in our formulas, since cannabinoids are fat-soluble.

What is CBG or cannabigerol?

CBG or cannabigerol

CBG, or cannabigerol, is a type of cannabinoid obtained from the cannabis plant. It is described as the 'mother molecule' of all cannabinoids. Indeed, these are derived from cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), an acidic form of CBG. In the cannabis plant, CBG is available in smaller quantities than other cannabinoids.

This substance is not psychoactive and could potentially have neuroprotective, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and immune system stimulating effects.

Like any other cannabinoid, CBG interacts with the endocannabinoid system in various ways.

How to choose a good massage oil?

The choice of massage oil depends on your specific needs.

For example, if you want to moisturise and nourish the skin, improve its elasticity, fight cellulite, relieve pain, relax muscles, soothe nervousness, aid sleep, release tension, or assist in muscle recovery.

There are different types of massage oils based on texture, composition, scent, and desired effect.

To choose your massage oil, you should consider your personal preferences, skin type, the area to be massaged, and the purpose of the massage.

SOWÉ massage oil combines all these functions thanks to the synergy of carefully selected vegetable oils, essential oils, and our hemp extract.

What is the difference between massage oils, massage gels, and massage butters?

Massage oils are often more slippery in the hands than massage gel, but their texture can vary considerably depending on the type of oils used in their composition and the proportions used.

Massage gels are usually made from butter (shea, mango, argan, almond). They are mixed with one or more vegetable oils to achieve a texture halfway between oil and butter.

What is muscle pain?

Muscle pain is often linked to excessive sports training, but it can have other causes. Intense physical effort, inadequate warm-ups and stretching, and a lack of hydration throughout the sporting activity are all factors that contribute to the onset of muscular pain.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are the plant's aromatic compounds

They help protect it against predators and infectious agents.
They have potential therapeutic properties. They are found, just like phytocannabinoids, in the trichomes of the flower, but also in the leaves.
For the record, not all terpenes are specific to hemp and can be found in many plants.

Here are a few examples of the most well-known terpenes that we can find in hemp.

Myrcene

A major component of hemp, it may have analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-fungal, antioxidant and neuroprotective properties. It may also have sedative and relaxing effects.

Limonene

The second most common terpene, it is believed to act as an antioxidant, anxiolytic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antidepressant substance.
Found in citrus fruits (lemon scent). In alternative medicine, it reduces heartburn and gastric reflux.

Pinene

Bronchodilator, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, and antibacterial.

Linalool

Also present in mint, lavender and basil. Used as an anxiolytic and calming agent.

There are dozens of terpenes in hemp. The presence of these terpenes contributes to what is called the entourage effect and is a guarantee of product quality.

How do I store my oil?

Store at room temperature, out of sight and reach of children, in a dry place protected from UV rays and light.
Avoid severe thermal shock.

J’aime BEAUCOUP!!!!!
