About us

SOWÉ is a skincare laboratory dedicated to the intelligence of plants.

Whereas conventional brands isolate an active ingredient and dilute it in water, we extract ingredients from different parts of the same plant – seeds, flowers and stems – to formulate water-free, ultra-concentrated skincare products that make no compromises.

The result is a non-invasive, biomimetic approach: formulas that support the skin without imposing constraints on it, drawing inspiration from its natural mechanisms. Each creation is developed in the laboratory, designed to be balanced, effective and essential.

Cold pressed virgin oil

Cold pressing, whether it's vegetable or essential oil, is extracted from plants at low temperatures, usually below 49°C (120°F). This pressing method preserves more nutrients, flavors, and beneficial properties of plants compared to hot pressing methods that can alter or destroy some of these elements.

For vegetable oils, cold pressing is preferred because it helps preserve essential fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants, and other bioactive compounds found in seeds, fruits, or nuts. These nutrients can have health benefits such as protection against cardiovascular diseases, reduction of inflammation, and improvement of skin and hair health. For essential oils, cold pressing is often used to extract oils from citrus peels, for example. This helps preserve the fresh flavors and therapeutic properties of plants because high temperatures can alter or destroy the volatile compounds responsible for these characteristics.

Cold pressing is preferred as it best preserves the quality and benefits of vegetable and essential oils. SOWÉ Botanic Lab oils are cold pressed in France.

Preservative-free formula

In order to offer products that are as safe as possible, while avoiding preservatives, SOWÉ has opted for a water-free formulation. Water-free formulas eliminate the need for preservatives and chemical additives, minimising the risk of irritation and allergic reactions.

Vegan ingredients

Our ingredients are free from animal raw materials (animal ingredient or by-product) and animal origin. Our products are 100% of plant origin. SOWÉ certifies that the entire brand does not carry out any animal testing at any stage of manufacture (ingredients + finished products), either by itself or by a third party.

ISO 16128 Standard

At SOWÉ, we state the percentage of natural ingredients in each product in accordance with ISO 16128. Our oils are extracted exclusively from natural sources, such as plants, seeds, fruits or nuts, with no added chemicals or synthetic additives. No chemical transformation is involved.

Organic ingredients

Our ingredients are certified COSMOS (organic and natural cosmetics) by the certification body Ecocert. We guarantee the quality and traceability of all our products. Our organic vegetable oils are selected according to rigorous quality standards. Our formulas contain A MINIMUM of 98.5% organic ingredients (well above the 20% threshold required by Ecocert).
