Cold pressed virgin oil

Cold pressing, whether it's vegetable or essential oil, is extracted from plants at low temperatures, usually below 49°C (120°F). This pressing method preserves more nutrients, flavors, and beneficial properties of plants compared to hot pressing methods that can alter or destroy some of these elements.

For vegetable oils, cold pressing is preferred because it helps preserve essential fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants, and other bioactive compounds found in seeds, fruits, or nuts. These nutrients can have health benefits such as protection against cardiovascular diseases, reduction of inflammation, and improvement of skin and hair health. For essential oils, cold pressing is often used to extract oils from citrus peels, for example. This helps preserve the fresh flavors and therapeutic properties of plants because high temperatures can alter or destroy the volatile compounds responsible for these characteristics.

Cold pressing is preferred as it best preserves the quality and benefits of vegetable and essential oils. SOWÉ Botanic Lab oils are cold pressed in France.

Preservative-free formula

In order to offer products that are as safe as possible, while avoiding preservatives, SOWÉ has opted for a water-free formulation. Water-free formulas eliminate the need for preservatives and chemical additives, minimising the risk of irritation and allergic reactions.
