What is calendula oil and how is it made?
Calendula oil is an oily macerate obtained from the flowers of the marigold (Calendula officinalis), a plant with powerful medicinal properties. It is made by macerating the dried flowers in a vegetable oil (often sunflower, olive, or jojoba) for several weeks at room or mild temperature. Native to Europe and Asia, calendula is grown organically or traditionally to preserve all of its soothing, restorative, and anti-inflammatory properties.
