Hemp, otherwise known as cannabis, with its exceptional, economical and resistant qualities, also represents a very interesting ecological solution. Sowé therefore offers you CBD oils of unique quality, based on hemp oil from French organic farming and cold pressed to preserve all its properties.
Cannabidiol or CBD is extracted from the European hemp plant and remains one of the most common active ingredients found in this plant. Unlike THC, CBD has no euphoric effect and has been recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Our hemp oil AND CBD extract are both Cosmos certified by Ecocert.

How does CBD work?

By acting on the endocannabinoid system of our body! To understand the complexity of cannabidiol (CBD), and therefore of hemp, you also need to know that this plant interacts with the human body and this endocannabinoid system (ECS).

This is a regulatory system in mammals that is involved in many essential functions such as sleep and appetite. While the immune system and the nervous system are the best known, the endocannabinoid system, otherwise known as the ECS, was discovered 30 years ago. It plays a crucial role in regulating many of the body's physiological functions by helping it to achieve or maintain balance.

The four main purposes of ECS include - neuroprotection - stress recovery - immune balance - homeostatic regulation (which allows a living being to maintain physiological balance within its body despite adverse external conditions).

In situations of excessive stress, for example, this system is activated and allows the body to return to a normal state. If necessary, we produce our own cannabinoids: endocannabinoids!

What kind of CBD?

Our CBD is called "broad spectrum", which means that it also includes all cannabinoids, terpenes and other phytochemicals in cannabis, excluding THC.

Among the cannabinoids is cannabigerol (CBG). Indeed, our broad spectrum CBD distillate contains approximately 85% CBD, 5% CBG and 1% CBC.

CBG and CBD, what are the differences?

While both have many similarities, being non-toxic and non-psychotropic, their mechanism of action is not the same. CBG can interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors present in the ECS, while CBD influences the ECS as a whole (with a stronger affinity for CB2). However, CB2 is only present in the immune system, where CB1 receptors are present in the brain.

The entourage effect

For example, CBG is very effective in soothing inflammation and pain, and CBD helps with insomnia, stress, anxiety and concentration. Both have many benefits, however it has been shown that the different components of hemp have much more powerful effects when used together rather than separately. This is what we call the entourage effect.

CBD also contains other active ingredients: terpenes ! Hemp contains them in large quantities and with a diversity unknown elsewhere in the botanical genius. The uses of these terpenes are similar to the production of essential oils used for their ability to improve well-being. Hemp can contain more than 120 terpenes, all in very small quantities compared to cannabinoids. For the record, not all terpenes are specific to hemp and can be found in many plants.

Potentially participating fully in the so-called "entourage effect", the most studied are:

limonene, present in citrus fruits (lemon scent). In alternative medicine, it reduces heartburn and gastric reflux;

myrcene, found in laurel, thyme and hops. It is used against diarrhoea or hypertension;

• pinene. Bronchodilator, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antibacterial;

• linalool, also present in mint, lavender or basil. Used as an anxiolytic and as a sedative.

How is CBD extracted?

Our premium CBD is simply natural, not synthetic. SOWÉ has therefore opted for supercritical CO2 extraction. This consists of treating a natural, vegetable raw material with CO2. Between the viscosity of a gas and the density of a liquid, the supercritical CO2 draws the molecules and circulates until the desired active ingredients are fully extracted, such as CBD, CBD-V, CBG or CBC as well as many terpenes while guaranteeing the exclusion of THC. Yes, it is excluded. It's sad for him, but that's the way it is, the law requires it.

This technique preserves the organoleptic qualities (likely to excite a sensory receptor) of the natural raw material and is done at room temperature. It is an ecological method that does not generate greenhouse gases or pollutants. Our CBD products are controlled by independent laboratories in order to guarantee an irreproachable quality. These microbiological analyses certify the absence of any heavy metals, solvents, pesticides or other undesirable agents in our formulas.

All this allows Sowé to respect its environmental commitments. 1 point for you, 1 point for us!

How to choose your CBD oil? What concentration? How much?

Not easy at first sight, we agree. Especially as there is no official dosage recommended by the European Commission as there is for other food supplements.

In any case, it is best to start with small doses and gradually increase the amount to find the right dosage.

The approach proposed here is already standard practice. You need to take your weight into account.

The basis for determining the appropriate dose of CBD is :

Take 1 mg to 6 mg of CBD per 5 kg of body weight as needed.

Your body weight is 50 kilos: Mild effect = 30 mg / day.

Your body weight is 60 kilos: Average effect = 48 mg / day

Your body weight is 70 kilos: Strong effect = 84 mg / day.

Each bottle contains 200 drops of oil and the amount of CBD in mg per drop is stated in the description of the oils, so look carefully.

You can then simply deduct the number of drops required according to your needs.

For example, with a 20% oil containing 200 drops of 10 mg each, and a weight of 60 kilos, you will need to take 3 drops in the morning and 3 drops in the evening for a medium effect. (The bottle will then last 33 days)

In conclusion, a consumption between 20 mg and 160 mg of CBD per day (as recommended by the EIHA) seems to be the norm. You will have to adjust it until you find your perfect dosage. In any case, start with small doses and increase gradually.

If this is not clear, see the spreadsheet below.
