Isolat de CBD, Isolate CBD,

Cannabidiol (isolate)

Chemistry:

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a molecule extracted from the hemp plant, which belongs to the Cannabinaceae family and the cannabis genus. This plant contains more than a hundred cannabinoids, such as THC, CBG and CBN. Although hemp has been used for thousands of years, it was not until 1940 that a chemist, Dr Roger Adams, isolated the first cannabinoid, CBD. It was his research that led to the identification of another well-known cannabinoid, THC. For the record, CBD is the second most studied cannabinoid after THC. Nevertheless, CBD does not have any psychotropic effects, unlike THC.

Manufacturing:

The pure CBD isolate is obtained by column chromatography from hemp oil extracted with supercritical CO2, in order to isolate CBD from other cannabinoids. The isolate we use has a CBD concentration of over 99%, without THC.

Properties:

CBD isolate is the most widely used technique in cosmetics, and is mostly in the form of a micronised powder to facilitate its use in formulation. According to the European Commission, through their cosmetic ingredients database Cosing, CBD lists no less than 4 compelling effects: Anti-sebum - conditioning - protecting - antioxidant. Nevertheless, the effects of CBD on the skin are not limited to a simple regulation of sebum. Numerous studies have demonstrated other benefits, CBD is said to be soothing, healing, anti-acne, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing.
